magnolia dairy
During my stay on an organic dairy farm in New Zealand, I had the opportunity to create a mural on the wall of their farm shop, where they sell raw milk, eggs, honey, and locally made crafts that served as a small but vibrant hub for the local community. I was fortunate to have incredibly kind and welcoming hosts, Janice the farmer and her partner Marcello, who generously gave me complete creative freedom with the project.
For the mural I chose to incorporate my own style with more recognisable elements of the farm - jersey cows, milk bottles, winding branches of magnolia flowers, native birds like the keruru and piwakawaka. I wanted to created something that would look natural, not out of place, in the environment of the busy farm but also something eye-catching and emotive of what the business represents.
